I’m extremely disappointed with Jim’s Auto. We paid a significant amount for repairs, and only a few months later the exact issues started happening again. When we brought the vehicle back expecting them to stand behind their work and honor their warranty, we were met with excuses instead of solutions. A repair shop’s reputation is built on trust and standing behind their workmanship, especially when customers spend thousands of dollars relying on their expertise. Unfortunately, that was not our experience here. Instead of taking responsibility, we felt brushed aside and left paying for problems that should have been covered. I understand that mechanical issues can happen, but refusing to properly honor a warranty after such a short period is unacceptable. I would strongly encourage anyone considering using Jim’s Auto to get all warranty terms in writing and think carefully before trusting them with major repairs.

We loved to Decatur 18 months ago and needed to find an auto shop we trusted. I went off Google reviews. My 2014 Camry was shaking at 45 mph, and Jim said it was the torque converter and needed a transmission. I looked around, and transmissions were $5000-8000, depending on new or used. Jim found a used, 50k mile transmission and I stalled it for far less, including the recall for Toyota so the torque converter wouldn't go bad again. The rusted out transaxle needed replacement as well. We trusted him enough to drive to VT and CT and back a month later and it did great. Good as new! I'd highly recommend him. Honest, competent, and a good guy.

It was nice that they squeezed by car in and got it done quickly but they broke my ABS sensor when fixing my breaks. I went directly in to tell them “hey why is the abs light on and it made a weird noise”. He tried to tell me the light was already on. Which is a lie because my son and I drive the car and it was not, plus I had just had it at a different mechanic for an estimate way before this. All I’m saying is it’s better to be honest! I realize mistakes happen but be honest! I now have to have this fixed!($200-400!).

I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to Jim and Ben for their outstanding service in repairing my car's thermostat. As someone who recently moved to the area, facing a car issue was daunting and gave me a serious case of the heebie-jeebies. Taking a chance, I decided to visit Jim's auto shop, and I’m so glad I did. Not only did they resolve the problem at an incredibly reasonable price, but they also went above and beyond by flushing my radiator and replacing the dirty coolant at no extra cost. Their generosity and kindness truly stood out. It’s rare to find technicians as honest and reliable as Jim and Ben. Their professionalism and expertise are second to none, and I feel fortunate to have discovered their shop. I will enthusiastically recommend their services to anyone in need of auto repairs.

Took my Dodge Ram in and Jim gave me advice and saved me money. He could have easily took me for a diagnostic round of charges. But he was honest. Great place they will be my go to for repairs. Thanks Jim and crew. I use Jim's for my Business repairs on our delivery trucks. Always friendly, fast and accurate fixes. I will always use Jim's.
